Contemporary , i.e. the Here and Now; and yet the Not Ordinary View (N.O.V.) of a mediated and pondering eye, one willing and able to decipher the transverse nature of the observed and to extract its eventual new, provocative, or even revolutionary, meanings. Two readings, then, for the same exhibition. To begin with, optical perception prompts a vision, an intellectual perception, by which the mind converts the physical sensation into immaterial intelligibles, or concepts. And concepts, in turn, feed the visionary dimension, the unveiling of the not-yet-there, the possible future(s) supported and supportable by the ethical push of the artist and his/her public as well.
This dialectic between the existent and change is declined here in the aesthetic mode, but carries an obvious anthropological significance, in that inherent to human nature: no wonder, then, that the exhibition’s works show something in order to prove something else, and that the latter be elsewhere, to come, and to be fought for. Artists, though, are quite peculiar in that their freedom of language and their tools’ concreteness allow them to maximize the semantic and communicative effectiveness of the concepts carried by the works. Images, materials, techniques of the visual universe can be manipulated endlessly, and each manipulation will return renewed and amplified visibility, tactility, sonority, and so on…Thanks to this magic, an exhibition imbued with “Intentionality” (à la Husserl), and extremely rigorous as to ideas and project, equally appeals to the mobilization of all visitors’ senses around the emblematic, if not archetypal, creations of the artists.

Contemporaine, c’est-à-dire Now, l’Ici et Maintenant; mais aussi N.O.V., la Vision Non Ordinaire d’un regard méditatif et médiatisé, prêt et capable de déchiffrer la nature transversale de l’observé pour en extraire, s’il existe, le sens original, provocateur, ou, pourquoi pas, révolutionnaire. Deux lectures, par conséquent, pour la même exposition. Dans un premier temps, la perception optique suscite une vision, une perception intellectuelle, par laquelle l’esprit convertit la sensation physique en formes intelligibles, ou en concepts. Et ces concepts nourrissent à leur tour la dimension visionnaire, le dévoilement du « pas encore », du possible, soutenu et soutenable par l’engagement éthique de l’artiste et de son public. Cette dialectique entre l’existant et le changement se décline ici en mode esthétique, mais porte une signification anthropologique évidente, inhérente à la nature humaine: pas étonnant, alors, que les œuvres présentées montrent une chose pour en prouver une autre, et qu’elles traitent d’un autre à venir et à construire. Cependant, les artistes ont cette particularité que la combinaison de leur liberté d’expression et la matérialité de leurs outils leur permet de maximaliser l’efficacité sémantique et communicative des concepts portés par leurs œuvres. L’image, les matériaux et les techniques de l’univers visuel peuvent être manipulés à l’infini, chaque manipulation, renouvelant et amplifiant la visibilité, la sensibilité tactile, sonore, etc… Grâce à cette magie, une exposition comme celle-là, imprégnée d’ “Intentionnalité” (à la Husserl) et très rigoureuse quant aux idées et au projet, fait appel également à la mobilisation des sens de tous les visiteurs autour des emblématiques, si ce n’est archétypiques, créations des artistes.

Contemporaneo per Now, l’immediato; e per N.O.V., la Visione Non Ordinaria di uno sguardo meditativo e mediato, capace di decifrare la trasversale natura dell’osservato e di estrarne, se c’è, il significato inedito, provocatorio o, perché no, rivoluzionario. Due dimensioni, dunque, per riflettere su questa mostra. La prima parte dalla vista – dalla percezione ottica – per generare una visione, cioè il percepito intellettuale, in cui il pensiero disincarna il senso in forme intelligibili, in concetti. La seconda è la dimensione visionaria, lo svelamento del non ancora, del possibile, sostenuto e sostenibile con l’impegno etico dell’artista e del pubblico. Questa dialettica essere-cambiamento è declinata esteticamente, ma in sostanza antropologica, connaturata all’uomo: nessuna sorpresa, quindi, che i lavori presentati mostrino qualcosa per dimostrare qualcos’altro, e che si tratti di altro a venire e da costruire.
Tuttavia, il proprio dell’artista è la combinazione di libertà di linguaggio e concretezza del medium, a beneficio della massima efficacia semantica e comunicativa dei concetti sottintesi. L’immagine, i materiali e le tecniche possono essere manipolati all’infinito, senza perdere, ma anzi rinnovando e moltiplicando, visibilità, tattilità, sonorità, ecc. Così, una mostra come questa, pervasa di “intenzionalità” (alla Husserl), e di estremo rigore progettuale-ideale, mobilita altrettanto vigorosamente tutti i sensi degli spettatori sugli emblematici, o perfino archetipici, materiali che veicolano la creatività degli artisti.
